For the past week i have been feeling a bit blah. just like the cute kitty in the picture, this is how i feel. kinda drained lately. it's a combo of different things but i'll be ok soon enough. but i just realized that i have been at my job for 3 months today. its a good feeling. my job is pretty good. there's a bar at my job and the bartenders are great. i became good friends with one of them.
As lucky and grateful as i feel that i have a job i also sometimes feel tired of it, and its only been 3 months. anyone else ever feel like this? i really am grateful that i have the job. when you havent worked in a year and a half of course you'll be grateful but i guess its like something my boyfriend says. he believes that i wasnt meant to work for anyone. i very much agree. i hate feeling ungrateful for the job, i really do. i guess you dont have to work long at a job to take its toll on you, especially when you work over night like i do. right now this job really is good for me. the late shift is the best one at my job, its calm, quiet, and i barely deal with people. the best part is that i never see my boss. its like its my own business and i'm in charge, which i am during my shift.
As far as not working for someone, that is my dream. i want to own a small business, or a few, and not have to work for someone else. i also see how employees get treated at jobs and i dont like it. i want to be different, i would like to be a good boss, i want to provide jobs that people want to work at and would enjoy with decent pay. thats one side, on the other, like anyone else i want to have the freedom of not having to go into work everyday and lettings others take care of it. of course i would handle my own business but want trustworthy people that can take care of things if i cant or dont want to work during a certain time.
How about everyone else, you ever feel like this? What are your dreams and goals? What do you want in your life that would make you happy and complete?

I, too, dream of owning a small business. I want to open up a pottery painting studio, where I could have arts and crafts summer camps and stuff.
And I don't blame you for feeling cruddy about your job. I felt the same way up in New Jersey, when I was working at my Aunt and Uncle's small business. That line of work isn't for me. Maybe that's how it is for you. Don't feel bad because your job is crappy, your job should feel bad.
I am not sure that I would want my own business, there are so many headaches, I am not sure if the rewards outweigh the problems?
My I totally know what you mean. I'm growing weary of teaching. But as you say, I'm VERY grateful I have a job. :)
Hey, I just tagged you with a blog award, check out my post. :)
btw - congrats on your 3 month job anniversary!
god. i love this photo. god do i. i mean...that is me right now.
i am here for ya. and congrats on the 3 month mark.
I think everyone feels like this at some point in their life. But if this is something you feel strongly about then you should definitely go for it! I owned my own business for three years and discovered that it was a lot more work than I thought it would be. But if you find that it works for you then you can turn it in to whatever you want it to be. It just takes dedication.
Moxie: a pottery painting studio is a great idea. there is a nice one in a major mall near where i live and i go there once in a while. they play music and sell food like a small cafe. yeah with my job, i mean i like it but i know this isnt forever and just need to work for what i really want.
Otin: each of my parents have had their own business. my moms wasnt good b/c she isnt a business person and doesnt know what to do. my had had a restaurant and did great b/c he knew what to do and kept it simple. i think it depends on what business you are running and how you run it.
Ebony: thanks. yeah unless you love what you do you will get weary of it after a while. thanks for the award, i will check it out.
B: thanks and i love the pic too. i thought it would be perfect for this post.
Simple Girl: thanks. i agree. if its something that you wanna do, and i really do, then i should go for it. if you have dedication it will happen.
thanks everyone for the great comments. :)
Congrats on your anniversary.
Everyone feels this way at times...Don't let work get you down...remember it is just temporary...You have dreams... FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS and they will come true.
I understand how you feel. I've been wanting a part time job but I know that if I get one I would hate it...I mean, I really want the money but at the same time, I hate to be bossed around. I'm hoping I'll find a job that interests me and I hope the same happens to you. =]
